Frankenstein 2
Within the heart of this play, there lies the aura of darkness and evil. That combines to create a dominant atmosphere of fear and deception. The imagery of blood, nature and the supernatural contribute to the evil atmosphere. With all three of these key factors this play has an atmosphere of darkness, deception, and horror that surrounds the play. The aura of darkness is present with the daughters of the devil. The three witches are placed within the play to see that evil rises above good. From the witches mouth, "Fair is foul and foul is fair. Hover through the fog and filthy air" (I. i. 10-11). This establishes the intent of the witches to extend the path of evil. The witches are under false pretense by tricking Macbeth into thinking that they are there to help him and tell him the future. Macbeth seems to be blinded by evil unlike Banquo. As Banquo states here , "But 'tis strange: The instruments of darkness tell us truths, win us with honest trifles, to betray's in deepest consequence" ( I. iii. 122-126). Banquo knows these witches to be evil, but Macbeth likes what he hears from Satan's mouth and falls into the hands of evil that very instant. When the king meets his unworthy death, nature all aro

The falcon for example, "Even like the deed that's done. On Tuesday last a falcon, tow'ring in her pride of place, was by a mousing owl hawked at and killed" (II. iv. 11-12). As unnatural as it may seem this happened because of the death of the king. Now evil was present in this kingdom and chaos would reign.
