Frederick the Great was the son of Frederick William I and became his father's predecessor in 1740 as ruler of Prussia. Frederick the Great made one of the best armies in Europe in the 1700's. Frederick changed the economy of Prussia for the better. Frederick secured Prussia as a major European power also. For these accomplishments alone, Frederick the Great can be considered a success.
