hunting
Every year at this time our whole family goes camping in the dark woods of Mississippi. After a three hour drive we finally arrive. We unpacked everything and set up our tents. "Mom, Becky and I are going to walk around to see the animals," I said excitedly. Becky is my cousin and my best friend. "OK just be careful," my mom said. "We will." We walk off into the woods. We have to be really quiet if we want to see the deer. They are so beautiful especially one in particular. Every year we see the same deer and we named it Spot because he has a white spot on his left ear. "There it is Becky. Do you see him." "Yeah, it's Spot." We always try to get Spot to eat cereal out of our hands and every year he comes closer. "Becky do you have the cereal?" "Yeah it's right here." She pulls the cereal out of her pocket and pours some into my hands. I put my hands out and Spot starts to walk slowly towards us. He gets closer and closer until he is only a few inches away. He leans over and begins to eat the cereal out of my hands. I look at Becky and we both have smiles of joy on our face. This is the first time Spot came so close. I suddenly heard a loud noise a
Hunting promotes violence in people of all ages. If a Childs father hunts, that child is going to grow up to think that killing is the right thing to do. Children look up to their parents and will follow in their foot steps. There are also commercials on TV with people killing animals. This is not a good example to be setting for children. Children will think that killing animals is normal and may even go further with the issue. A child raised in this type of environment can grow up to be more violent than a child raised in a more animal loving environment. Hunting is called a sport by many people, but I see it differently. A person should first think of what the word sport means. In sports both sides are willing, both sides agree to participate, and both sides have equal protection or gear. In hunting I really doubt that the innocent deer agreed to participate in being hunt down and killed. Hunting also takes money away from the meat industry. Instead of buying meat from the stories, people are going out and killing their own meat. Every time a hunter kills one of these animals they are killing the innocent. These animals have done nothing to harm people, so people should not harm animals. Humans are definitely guiltier of sin than animals, yet humans are not being hunted. The hunters point of view seems to differ greatly from mine. I have talked to many people about the subject and have gotten many arguments in return. They say that hunting keeps the population down and under control. While this may be true, the population would stay down anyway since animals are constantly dying of old age. It is also said that it is survival of the fittest and that animals
