A Sense of Reality

"Logic and sermons never convince, the damp of the night drives deeper into my soul,"-Whitman. In Whitman's quote, he explains the difference between logic, sermons and nature itself. Words are words, and contain empty emotions behinds them. Nature is the reality and realness of self-awareness. Therefore according to Whitman's quote, nature is unbiased, nature holds enlightenment, and nature will always reveal truths, rather than people. Words are intangible things, people lie, people steal, but you can never lie with nature. In fact nature never lies.... nature never says, "Here comes the rain...just kidding."

Transcendentalism is a sense of nature that brings forth the truth and conscience among every one of us. It's the process of becoming "one" with nature, relying upon your conscience that depends on nature. Whitman's quote "Logic and sermons never convince, the damp of the night drives deeper into my soul," explains that he can never feel the logic and sermons, he can never believe one's talk, and he can never experience one's logic. But what he can hold to himself, is what he feels from nature, what he experiences through nature, and the nature that rest's inside of him. His quote transcend

Evidence of transcendentalism has become scarce. The idea of experiencing more from nature-first hand, rather than just hearing about it, or being told about it, has become a rare practice. In society today, that would mean, people unplugging themselves out of the digital-technology age and plugging themselves back into nature. Which translates into, people unplugging their cell phones, laptops, and taking time off of work to just, go out and experience the feeling of being "one" with nature. But, experiencing everything first hand, is becoming less and less and less, even more, as society is constantly being introduced to the Internet. With the Internet, we are now just a click away from, watching streaming video of the coastal region in Monterey bay, or "riding a roller coaster" via virtual reality. We also see artificial evidence of being one with nature by the Las Vegas Hotels. Mandalay Bay, has an artificial beach. The beach is technically a beach, but it's not the same idea, of being one with nature. Theirs a difference between sitting at a beach, with the sound of a motor that is turning a steel platform to make waves, and the actual feeling seagulls surrounding you and the distant sound of the everlasting beach as it hugs the coastline.

Whitmans idea, affects your life, by affecting
