Lyndon Baines Johnson

Lyndon B. Johnson was born on August 27, 1908 in Texas with rural background. He felt the pinch of rural poverty as he grew up, working his way through Southwest Texas State Teachers College. Johnson learned compassion for the poverty of others when he taught students of Mexican descent.

Johnson was one of the most masterful politicians in history of the Congress of the United States. He was a champion of bipartisan and consensus politics. His positions on public issues were always in line with what be believed to be the middle ground of popular opinion. He excels in getting things done. Before he became president he was a Congressman, Senate leader, and a vice president.
