The bubonic plague was one of the greatest and strongest killers in the history of the human kind. This disease took so many lives, that Froissart and some other modern demographers, find that: " Third of the world died ". Bubonic plague was, also called a Black Death, because of the enormous rate of the mortality and its effect on the society. It appeared in 14th century in Asia and was brought into Europe by caravan routes and trading ships. The period when plague was ruling the world resulted with horror and death, which can not be explained.

The central Asia was the place where the plague first appeared. By mistake, China was very often considered for the country of origin, probably, because of the great mortality in that period, from draught, famine and other causes.

The plague was spreading very fast, from central Asia to Persia, Syria and Egypt, leaving some countries, like for example India, totally ruined and depopulated. The caravans and ships were carrying the disease and where ever they had passed the death and terror appeared.

The victims were young and old, children and parents, priests and criminals, poor and rich and nobles and kings. The plague did not make any choice; it treated everybody on the same way, with the tragic end. High mortality level was among the doctors and nuns, who were helping and always were surrounded by infected ones.

Average people, in many ways, considered the bubonic plague, although the superstition was only explanation. This terror and horror was attributed to the " Evil One ", others thought that plague was the " Wrath of God " and that it is the end of the world.
