Nature vs. Nurture
A detailed Summary of Nature vs. Nurture
The ultimate question that leads any sociological discussion is the battle between nurture and nature; what is more important to a human development. Both sides have equal and valid arguments, however I believe that the most important influence on a child's development is nurture by others and one self. In "Gattaca" this question is raised many times, the move even beings with the quote, "Consider God's handwork; who can straighten what He hath made crooked?" This quote states that you can not straighten what God, or geneticists have 'created'. To me this idea is false. I think that we learn to become what we are at the end.
