John Lennon Biography
October 9, 1940 marked the date the remarkable John Lennon was born. John was born and raised in Liverpool, England. Lennon did not have an easy childhood at all, he was left by his father and mother at a young age. Out of true kindness, his Aunt Mimi Smith took him in and supported him. She was a middle classed woman who also lived in Liverpool. John had a rebellious character and disliked the school system in Liverpool. He was quickly labeled a troublemaker and his only salvation was Rock ‘n Roll. It would be hard to imagine the kind of life John had when he was child. With both parents gone at such a young age, he felt very neglected. This strongly accounts for his rebellious behavior and may have possibly been the reason why he became such a great rock star. At the age of 16, John formed his first band called the Quarrymen who were very talented. In 1957, Paul McCartney attended a show at a local party and was impressed by Lennon’s amazing skills. Paul proposed to join the band as lead guitarist and since he was the only one who could properly tune a guitar and had extensive knowledge of music, John accepted the offer.
