IMPERIALISM

The new imperialism was caused by a variety of factors, including the onset of industrialization, nationalist feelings and unification movements. Economic, social and political forces accelerated the drive to take over all parts of the globe as well.

The race for new colonies came from national pride, patriotism and economic competition.
