Lesson Before Dying
In his novel, A Lesson Before Dying, Ernest Gaines tells a story of a man named Grant Wiggins who undergoes a transformation in character. Although he narrates the tragic events that lead to Jefferson's untimely death, Grant Wiggins' life struggles remain the center of the story. At the start of the book, Mr. Wiggins did not understand this. He went to visit Jefferson because Miss Emma and his Aunt made him go forcefully. He really had no motivation except that he would be shunned by his Aunt if he did not comply. Mr. Wiggins developed greatly during the course of this story, along with other characters featured in the story. Vivian met his family and neighbors and increased the quality of her relationship with Mr. Wiggins, Miss Emma finally got
