The Book of Job
There was a man named Job. He was blameless and upright, one who feared God. Job had seven sons and three daughters. His children got together and held a feast. After the feast, he offered seven burnt offerings to the God because he thought that his sons might have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. One day, the sons of God came to the LORD. Satan also came with them. God mentioned that Job was blameless, upright, and the one who turned from evil. Satan asked God to test Job's faith and loyalty by destroying whatever Job had, and said to God that Job would curse Him if he lost everything. God gave Satan the permission to test Job. Thus, one day, a messenger came to Job saying that the Sabe'ans took the oxen that were plowing and the Asses feeding besides them away, and killed the servants. Then came another messenger saying that sheep and servants were burnt in a fire. Another messenger came saying that Chalde'ans raided the camels and killed the servants. Eli'phaz then says to Job that he has supported them who were in trouble, and now when it comes to himself, Job is losing his patience. Eli'phaz tells Job that innocent people are not punished. Eli'phaz thinks that Job may have sinned, and so he tells Job that one suffers because of ones deeds. He also says that God does not trust His servants and charges the good people with errors. Job says that if God grants him a desire then he will ask God to take his life. Job asks Eli'phaz to tell how he has made any mistake. Then Bildad says to Job that his children died because they may have sinned. He tells Job to pray to God and that if Job is pure and upright, then God will surely reward him. Job replies that he cannot summon God, and even if he does, he will not have words to answer God. But, Job thinks that God criticizes him. Job says that he was now not
