For one Mexico didn't have to kill all the Americans at the Alamo just because they didn't obey the laws, they could have delt with that a little better. The U.S. probably should have made a better decision about obeying the laws though and at least made an effort to obey the Tax part. The U.S. probably shouldn't have forced Mexico to make a decision so quickly about the border. Mexico could have kept talking though and not walked away from the discussion.
