To die by fate or to die by carelessness. In the story "To Build A Fire" by Jack London, the main character died because of his imprudent actions and not fate. He could have changed the outcome of the story by thinking about things before actually doing them, and listing to his acquired wisdom from the old man. The old man told him some valuable information and he over looked the information and he mocked the old man. That is why the character in the story died because of his negligence.

The main character should have built the fire away from the snow-covered tree. If he had he could have lived. He should have taken his time and thought and looked around before he did anything then he would have saw the snow-covere
