Super Chevy is a monthly periodical, which is aimed at providing owners of high performance Chevys dealing with Chevy related events and technical information and testing. The magazine is focused at readers who have a love affair with high performance Chevy cars and trucks. The culture portrayed in this magazine is one obsessed with a need for speed and the desire to make their Chevy the fastest and coolest looking one around. Almost every ad and article in the magazine dealt with a product, which enhances either the performance or looks of a Chevy. The culture of Super Chevy readers is one in which their cars are part of their lives in very special ways, mainly spending any free time and especially money on modifying and working on their cars. For example, an ad for Erson Cams states, "Matched for Maximum Performance and Value!" Another advertisement for Sportsman Racing Products high performance pistons promises "Superhero Performance At a Mortal Price." Ads similar to these, which claim affordable prices, appear throughout the entire magazine. There is even a section called "Parts Bin," which showcases some of the newest go-fast goodies in the market. However, these parts, not considering installation costs, are quite expensive. This indicates that the income and social economic status is above average. Yet, the Super Chevy culture contains readers from the upper lower class who drive slightly modified early nineties Camaros to those in the upper middle cl
