One The Road, is a novel written by Jack Kerouac. It is an ingeniouse novel

about lust, envy, and greed. It deals with the adventures of one young man, who is

searching for a meaning in life and realizes that he knew what it was all along. All he

wanted was a vacation away from school, but what he got was more than what he

On The Road, takes place in the late 1940's and deals with the agonies and

frustrations of hitch-hiking all throughout America , making new friends, new lovers,

and ultimately having to leave them. For Sal Paradise this became a way of life. Sal is

a guy who just wants to explore the world and live every minute of his life to the

fullest. He wants to seize the day without having anyone interfere. Sal finds himself

sleeping around with many of the local prostitutes and thinks he is in love, when

in reality he is just having meaningless sex. He falls in love with a beautiful mexican

girl that he truly cares for, but he soon leaves her like he does all the others. Sal

learns a lot about himself and lessons about the world around him that help him on
