These Magic Moments

Growing up, young girls always visualize and plan their fairy tale weddings, taking scenes from Sleeping Beauty, Snow White or other glorious weddings and adding their own special touch. Some would think the older one gets the less they think about the fairy tales they heard as bed time stories, but this is not so. Life reflects in one way or another the same stories heard as a child and these fairy tales influence our actions in everyday circumstances.

This demonstrates, in a way, the need to keep ones feet on the ground when they do dream.

Although older children and some adults may view their lives or a situation in their lives as fairy tale like, they often just rationalize the situation, good or bad. The magic is gone in a sense, even though Barbie continues to mold young girls' ideas and fairy tales are still read as bedtime stories. The older one gets, the magic fades, but the element is still there and occasionally looked for, and when it is called upon, modern fairy tales happen.
