A question of ?who are you? is not one that can be answered. The extent of it can only be pondered and hypothesized through ideas. Ideas of ones own and ideas presented by great philosophers. The ideas of one?s own probably didn?t originate in their mind, but accepted or contracted from others. This process of learning constantly checks and revises our own views. These ideas of one?s self can very from one person to the next. It is like that because religious beliefs play a large roll in explaining the unexplained. I am going to explain my views and why I chose to believe that way. There are a number of questions one has to ask when pondering, ?who am I?. These questions involve the mind and spirit and if they relate to any material stuff. The questions of death and the afterlife are also brought up in the discussion.
I am a believer in the existence of some mental substance
I am a person and a human. Anything that has something close to a soul is a person. Are we human? This is just a classification given to this planet?s evolutionary product of man. To deny the presence of other people would be outlandish. This cannot even be question, when our planet has produced human and we know so little of other solar systems. This product of people could be widespread in the far galaxy. We could be so young and ignorant to their technology and lifestyle. When we think about this our question of who we are becomes a little bit more complex.
Is this soul stuff implanted in to a material body or a computer of some sort? I feel this computer theory to be too unimaginable. The sensation of touch, the feeling of pain just too indescribably real to be processed by a machine. So all of this sole stuff is in the brain, but what happens when the body shuts down
