essay about a societal problem

In our society today, we have many problems. One of these major problems is the fact that people are obsessed with making money. Everyone needs money to survive, but where should the madness stop? Many parents love money so much that they will allow other people, often strangers, to raise their children because of their greed and want of more money. Exceptions can always be found for parents not raising their children themselves, such as single parenting, being too young to be able to support their children, or even the problem of drugs and alcohol. What about those people who have nice lives, plenty of money, and a supporting other to help them? People in today's society are often too caught up in their jobs to find time to care for their children.

When I was born, my mother took two years off work so that I would never have to go to a day care. Day cares are in my opinion one of the biggest problems with our society nowadays. Being a day car

e worker, I often see children take their first steps, or hear them say their first words. The children are brought to a day care because their parents don't want to stop working, often times because of the parent's love for money. In today's society, less emphasis is placed on the parents for their responsibility for their children. Day cares are the most often sought of solution to a problem with the parent's schedule and the child's. When a child goes to school for the first time, or even day care for that matter, they miss their parents, and often cry for them. It becomes hard for the employees of that day care to explain that Mommy or Daddy aren't here, and often makes the child's mood worse.

Day care is not wrong, but there are some special moments in a baby's life that should be experienced by the infant's parents, not strangers that get paid to raise children. For instance, my mother still remembers when I took my very first steps, and what my first word was.

Some common words found in the essay are:
Mommy Daddy, It's Money, day care, day cares, raise children, love money, today's society,
