PA Compared to NC

A detailed Summary of PA Compared to NC

Pennsylvania and North Carolina are two states on the east side of the United States. Though they are apart in miles, they have many similarities, yet some differences. My mother and I had a chance to stay with my aunt in Hershey a few years back. As her and my mother discussed the "good old days", I could not help but take note as to the things that are similar and different here and in Pennsylvania.

The first and most obvious difference is the weather. In Pennsylvania, the weather there is, for the most part cold, and at the very least, cool. One of the most well known sayings about the weather there is that there are two seasons, "winter and road construction". Now, as funny as that sounds, it is not that far from the truth. In the summer time, it can usually be expected to reach about seventy-five to eighty degrees and the people there think that it is the end of the world. They think it is just too hot and muggy, which for someone who are not used to really hot weather, it would be. In the fall, there is a period of time (about one month), where the leaves turn color and the temperature reaches what they consider normal (fifty to sixty degrees). That only lasts for about a month until the weather take

Both North Carolina and Pennsylvania are two states that possess beauty. Although each states beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the attractiveness is still present. For example, the roads, weather, and the peoples' attitudes in both states are different to an extent, but they still possess qualities that are identified in their own state. Conditions and attitudes are two circumstances that could possibly change almost simultaneously in each state. Therefore, depending on what time of the year, or what area of the state one visits, precludes ones decision concerning each state.

The general attitude towards people is the same also. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule, but for the most part, people here are just as considerate here as they are in Pennsylvania. People in both states hold the same type of morals and the standard of living is the same as well. They all mind their manners; say their P's and Q's and are genuinely nice people in both states.

If a person really wanted to see the differences and similarities, they should think about taking a vacation to either Pennsylvania or North Carolina. Disappointment will not be among the feelings while being there or here. There are many things to do and a lot of things to see. Both states have a lot of history behind them and can be seen no matter where it is you go. Its amazing how two states so different in some aspects can be so much like each other as well.

North Carolina weather is so much different. For starters, there is a point where one season stops and the other begin. In the summer, temperatures can reach up to the triple digits. In Pennsylvania, that would be a record breaker to say the least. If it were to get to one hundred degrees in Pennsylvania, it would surely be heard on the news for years to come. The springtime here is very comfortable. The temperature is warm enough for those people who hate the cold and the extreme heat. Having a job where it is based solely outside makes it hard to work comfortably and most people in Pennsylvania do not have jobs like that, simply for the fact that work cannot be done year round. Down here, having an outside job year round is not that unheard of, and a person does not have to worry so much about the cold, like they do in Pennsylvania. In North Carolina, it gets cold too; it is not half as bad as Pennsylvania. Sn
