Warren G. Harding won the Presidential election by a 60 percent of the popular vote. Word began to reach the President that some of his friends were using their official positions for their own benefits. When warren found out about this he took action as soon as possible, he started an investigation. He did not live to find out how the public would react to the scandals of his administration or how or who was involved in the scandals. In August of 1923, he died in San Francisco, California of a heart attack. Warren G. Until the 1990s no trial in American history had attracted more attention, and been more misunderstood, than the 1925 trial in Dayton, Tennessee, of John Thomas Scopes, accused of violating a state law banning the teaching of human evolution. The July trial lasted eight days while the whole time the temperature was in the uppers 90's, attracted international news coverage. The Chicago radio station WGN made history by broadcasting the trial.
