A slipping down life
Evie Decker, is the daughter of a Middle-class schoolteacher, her mother is dead. She is plain faced, fat, unsocial, but nice. Bertram "Drum" Casey is the son of a poorer family, his father works at a small gas station in town. Drum sings rock music at a club, and helps his father from time to time. When these two kids decide to share their lives, all the differences between them lead their relationship to many conflicts, and force them to separate.Evie is an 18 year-old schoolgirl, she's not beautiful, she doesn't have many friends but Violet. She is isolated from her community; all her colleagues are different from her. She isn't musical at all, she even couldn't tell the difference between Rock & Pop in style, the only thing she realizes that is pop is easier to understand. Though sometimes she used to listen to the radio, she only enjoyed songs by their words. While listening to her radio, she used to hear songs dedication to names in couples; she remembered seeing them wearing matching shirts. Evie lived her life straightforwardly with nothing much to do, especially that she is served by the family maid, she wanted a revolution in her life, she wanted to get involved in her community, she wanted to be famous so everybody
They rented a cheap house outside the town, they began settling things down, and began calculating their expenses, Evie worked hard to serve Drum and she did all the housekeeping, she even learned how to make his favorite breakfast, while before she used to be served. Drum installed the furniture that they got from her father's house in a way that seemed that he had a blueprint in mind long ago about this type of house. They needed to get the maximum income possible, so they invited their parents to lunch to settle all the family business and try to get Drum's job back at the Gas station, that day Evie's father offered them his old car as a gift. Drum started working two days a week at the unicorn in addition to his part time job at the gas station. Evie got herself a descent job at the library. Conflicts between them both continued to grow bigger and bigger, even though Evie was fortitude she kept burying all those bad reactions, she just couldn't forget the bad way Drum used to treat her, and she didn't feel the warmth of love in her house anymore. Drum had never done what she expected of him, he was so lazy and dirty, he even didn't want her to continue going to the school, or working at the library. Drum even disappointed Evie when she was trying to help his business at the Tabernacle of God.
