In Kuwait, women aren't considered human. As women in Kuwait are part of a society that is educated and Islam gives them their right to be equal as men, their human rights shouldn't be denied. In late May, a decree issued by the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Jabir Al-Sabah without reference to anyone including his cabinet. The decree stated that women will be included in the electoral process which meant that in 2003, female citizens in Kuwait will be able to cast their ballots for representatives in the 50 seat Nation's Council but unfortunately it was rejected by the parliament because they held a vote and 32 out of 60 voted against granting the Kuwaiti women their political rights.
