I think that her dad didn't want to have the baby because he thought it would be to much work, cost to much money, and take away from his time. When she was born he thought to himself that he was this child's father and its his responsibility to take care of her and he loved her. I don't think that he should have took her on the dirt bike because of the danger it held, and the risk that it involved in taking her on it. Her dreams must have been heart trenching seeing her little girl getting killed over and over again. I think she was one of the bravest girls in that school for saying yes. I myself do not know what I would have done in that situation. I also would consider her a martyr. When she came to Shauna and told her that she had heard some people talking about her and she did not defend her, that was very brave. I would have not done that.

I think that it's a good thing they let her go. Not just because she was a friend, but because it was a Church outing and letting her go may help her to recover and making her feel more responsible.
