of mice and men

By looking at the characters in Of Mice and Men you can see that each character is different from the others in many ways. From the way they look, to their mannerisms, and their different thoughts and dreams they are all very unique characters. When reading Of Mice and Men, many of the character's stuck out in my mind, and one of those was Curley's wife. When first mentioned in the book, I wrote her off as an automatic antagonist of the story, but as the story continued I learned much more about her that made me change my mind.

Curley's wife entered the story described looking as beautiful as ever. She had her make-up done perfectly, hair curled, and was wearing a lovely cotton dress. She comes into the bunk house looking for Curley and asks George and Lennie in a flirtatious way. Georg

When she's in the barn with Lennie you find out how lonely she really is. She spills her heart to him telling him how she could have been in movies if her mom would have let her. While telling him this, she says the only reason she married Curley was because she had nothing better to do with her life since her dreams of stardom were over. Then she lets out that she really doesn't love Curley, a few short moments before her tragic death. This section of the book really startled me and made me change my viewpoints on Curley's wife dramatically. Before I thought she was just a trampy woman trying to start trouble, but I realized that she was just a very lonely girl, that had her dreams shattered who lived with a life of basically nothing.

e seems to notice her intent and tries to pay no atte
