A detailed Summary of Macbeth: Witch Conspiracy

Deception is the underlying tone of Macbeth. In the play, one deceitful event leads to another and so on. It seems as though no one is who they seems they are and everyone is suspected of having hidden ulterior motives. Slowly, as each character gets caught in the tangled mass of deception built up throughout the play, the web unravels itself and the pieces fall. The following is view of the chain of events that shows Shakespeare's idea of dishonesty at one of its finest moments.

It seems as if there is a domino effect of deception in Macbeth. If this is true then who exactly is accountable for putting this unholy machine into motion? One must investigate the Weird Sisters as possible suspects. Bearing in mind the play is fictional and written in a time of great superstition; it is possible that these women could possess supernatural powers. They seem to be represented as having an appetite for pandemonium. In the play, a great civil war has just drawn to a close and peace is settling over the dusty battlefields. It may be for entertainment or for some hidden gain but it is plausible that these witches want another war, so they plant the seeds for betrayal in the new Thane of Cawdor, Macbeth.

In the end, what happens to the Weird Sisters who allegedly set this trend loose to inject itself methodically into the minds of the most influential people in Scotland? While the core conspirators have all collapsed into themselves; Lady Macbeth by her own hand and Macbeth decapitated at the hand of Macduff. While the two involved in the murder of King Duncan mentally and emotionally unravel in guilt over time, the witches seem to come out unscathed in this battle of good and evil.

Her master plan is to commit regicide and slay the king in his slumber. As fate may have it, the king already is on his way to visit the thane and his wife. As seen in Macbeth's soliloquy, he does not want to murder the king who is reminiscent of a father to him, a man who holds Macbeth to such high regards.
