A detailed Summary of Jamestown Essay


Jamestown offered more opportunity to colonists than Massachusetts Bay Colony by allowing more than one religion, more workers rights, and freedom of speech. Jamestown settlers had a charter from England guaranteeing the rights of settlers, as they would have had it in England. The Puritans formed the Massachusetts Bay Colony and they received a charter also. Both colonies had their have and have-nots in them. Massachusetts Bay Colony promoted the church greatly and Jamestown promoted working over religion. Jamestown was the starting of a democracy, equality.

Colonists in Jamestown were given the right of free speech. The House of Burgess, first elected legis
