The Beatles
The Beatles were, and are without a doubt the most famous band in the history of music. The group was started up in 1957 by two upper-class young men by the names of Paul McCartney, and John Lennon. In 1958 the duo had an audition for a 3rd member. George Harrison came along, and was of course brought into the group. George Harrison, unlike his two other members had come from a poor family, he was the only child to make it through into college from his family. George had started to get into music when his parents forked out 3 pounds to buy him his 1st ever guitar. She helped him learn to play the guitar as well, and was a big influence in George's future success. After learning the guitar, he convinced his parents to pay 30 pounds for an electric guitar. George became obsessed with his music as he slacked in his schoolwork just to play his guitar. The Beatles trio slowly started getting paid for they're work as they played in small gigs. They were a rock band, but they had one problem, no bass, and not even a regular drummer. Eventually
The Beatles went to work on they're 1st album, and they're 1st single, Love Me Do went slowly up to no.1 on the charts. That was followed by 'From Me To You', 'She Loves You', and 'I Want To Hold Your Hand', all no.1's. They're early success had been noticed all over the world, especially in America. The Beatles never told Pete Best about they're new record deal, and fired him on the spot. But who was to drum for them? Richard Starkey was hired. Of course no-one knows him as that, people just call him Ringo Starr. Ringo had come from an even worse background then George Harrison. His parents were separated, he had fallen behind in school, and he spent 10 weeks in a coma when he was just six. Then his mum re-married, and he got a set of drums given to him at the age of 12. The only thing Ringo had to do to join the Beatles was brush his hair forward. I'd say that the Beatles influenced more people than any other people in the History of music, and they'll remain the most 'popular' band ever for a long time to come. In total, The Beatle
