After loading and unloading the aforementioned trucks, the actual delivery day began. Many delivery stops during the day, such as K-Mart, Wal-Mart, and Target, received anywhere from two to three hundred packages daily. Each of these hundreds of packages could range in weight from one to one hundred pounds. What's more, due to the lack of parking near some of the customer's delivery areas, some delivery stops required my walking several hundred feet with packages in hand. Walking long distances, carrying heavy packages, whether on a dolly or on my shoulder, could create several problems. Among the top of these problems are dropped or damaged packages and exhaustion or physical injury. The physical part of this job was only worsened by the uncomfortable conditions that the delivery truck offered.
