The Chapter on "Myths" is by far the most intriguing subject we have covered. I find it so interesting because myths are what shape our culture. From the time that we are little children we are told stories of mythical people and creatures in order to teach us lessons. As adults, we learn different stories of mythical creatures to help explain the mysteries of life and the afterlife. Depending on our culture and time period, we put all of our beliefs into these myths as if they were truth. In religion, it is the myths that drive the beliefs. The stories and how they are interpreted are what determine the morals and beliefs of the religion. I find these things so interesting because the explanations that people have for events in life are always so outrageous and almost unbelievable.

In myths, most of the characters have to go through a journey. Some characters look for the distressed princess or Zeus tries to keep the world together with the smallest amount of tragedies. I think this idea of a journey is the one thing that every human being can relate to. "The journey of life is accomplished by the passing of one milestone after another." I believe that this is the whole point in life, to accomplish a journey. When we arrive on earth, I think that we are expected to overcome certain trials and tribulations. There is that expression that says, "it is your cross to bear in life." I think that everyone has a cross to bear in life, something incredibly difficult that inhibits us, and the point of living is to get past that. Some people are addicted to substances or are born to underprivileged families. I believe that it is their soul's goal to overcome these barriers and progress as a spiritual being.
The section titled, "The Origins of Evil," was also fascinating. It seems that throughout history women have been blamed for causing the onset of evil. In Gre
