One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest
A detailed Summary of One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest
This is a story about a man named Chief Bromden who tells about his life that is changed in a mental hospital. He found his life in the mental hospital a boring and ruthless one. None of the patients would laugh, smile, joke around, make noise or dare to upset Nurse Ratched, who was known as the "Big Nurse." The Big Nurse was a very large woman who tried to maintain order in the hospital by making the patients' lives in the facility miserable. All of the patients feared the Big Nurse until a new patient came along and joined the ward as a new patient.
The latest patients name was Randle P. McMurphy. All the patients knew he was different from the first time he walked into the ward. He refused to listen to the black workers, patients, and especially the Big Nurse. McMurphy makes new friends in no time and gives the patients the courage to live freely and not to fear the Big Nurse. While enjoying his stay at the ward, he brilliantly found ways to make the Big Nurse become very impatient. McMurphy makes life in the ward fun, joyful, interesting, and exciting. He even helped to promote gambling in the ward. Before long, the patients were talking, laughing,

Nurse Ratched, also known as the "Big Nurse", was a large lady. She was a representative of the ward who watched over the patients. Her face was smooth like a baby that was white and cream in color. She had baby blue eyes, a small nose, grey hair and small, pink nostrils. All the patients in the ward feared her except McMurphy. She lost control of the ward after McMurphy inspired the patients not to fear her and to stand up for themselves. The Big Nurse was very ruthless in this story. She showed no sympathy towards the patients and she didn't let them do anything until McMurphy took control of the ward. Had she been a little more nicer, the patients wouldn't have been afraid of her and she would still be in control of the ward. This would also help her to get along with the patients.
The theme also applies to my winter break when I was grounded. The reason I got grounded was because I was doing very poorly in my English class so I couldn't go out during the vacation. I was feeling sad and bored and thought that my winter break couldn't get any worse. Towards the end of the winter break, my parents decided to let me go out with my friends because they felt sorry for me. I was so happy when they let me go out! All of a sudden, everything changed and got better for me. Now I know that it's true..."Even though things seem to be at their worst, it can change."
Chief Bromden is a very large, muscular, and tall man who thinks he is small and weak. He stands at six feet seven inches and is half Indian. Chief Bromden lives his life in the ward quietly and fearful against the Big Nurse until McMurphy comes along. He was so quiet that everyone in the ward thought he was deaf all the time he was living there. Chief Bromden was a caring guy because at the end, he thought about McMurphy. He knew that McMurphy wanted to win against the Big Nurse, so Chief Bromden suffocated hi
