Hosea was the son of Beeri, and author of the book of prophecies bearing his name. He belonged to the kingdom of Israel. His origin is question because of the peculiar, rough, innocent look. People point to the northern part of Palestine because of the intimate acquaintance he has with the localities of Ephraim.
