Through out the years, people have always complained that they have to pay too many taxes. But in reality, the government needs those taxes. I agree with Oliver Wendall Holmes when he said “ Taxes are what we pay for a civilized society”. It takes tax money to insure a safe and productive society. The taxes people pay are always used for the good of the public, most people don’t know what all is paid for by taxes. Taxes pay for everything from education to the pavement of the highways. At the state level, taxes help pay for our highway system. These highways allow our society to function in a beneficial manner.
