Picture this: You are camped out about 7:00 or so in a valley by a large lake. A mirrored image of the snow peaked mountains lay still in the ice cold water. The sound of silence soon gives way to coyotes, owls, and other animals in the area that start to haunt you. Glacier National Park is a spectacular and rare place that we have in America. The area should be preserved and cherished forever. According to Robert Scharff, a researcher on National Parks, Glacier National Park is one of the greatest trail parks in the United States, with more that over 700 miles of wilderness trails. Trail trips range from 20min. walks to overnight trips. Since trails are everywhere in the park they take you to unimaginable wonders that cannot be seen from the parks roads. Some of the trails contain very steep inclines while others can stay level. There are some areas on the trails completely encase you. The evergreens grow so high and so wide that at 11:00 in the morning may seem like 11:00 at night. When your hiking through the park you will notice that the sun doesn't set until 9:00 or so, so time escapes you.
