Creed

"Remember your roots my friend... cause heroes come and heroes go", sings lead vocalist Scott Stapp in "Are you ready?" the opening song to Creeds second CD. In the past few years the members of Creed have had to stick by this thought. My Own Prison, is Creeds debut CD, with 4 number one hits on the Billboard Rock Chart. It was a challenge for Creed to write as well as they did on the first CD. Human Clay shows growth, maturity, and diversity from My Own Prison. Their first hit off of Human Clay was "Higher," a song with the same sort of sound as their fist CD, "With Arms Wide Open" Is a much slower song that shows depth and feeling, "Inside Us All" is the last song on the CD, that closes with the lines, "There is peace inside us all... can't it be your friend?"

"Higher" is written by Scott Stapp and Mark Tremonti, the founders of Creed. It was written while they were on the road , they were sick of traveling and in need of a place to get away, inst


"With Arms Wide Open" is written by Scott Stapp when he found out he was going to be a father. It is a very heart warming song that any person can relate to. For parents or parents to be it is a very truthful and touching song, for the younger generations it makes them open their eyes and wonder what it will be like to have children. Scott Stapp makes reference to the fact that he doesn't want his son to be like him. "I hope he's not like me I hope he understands that he can take this life and hold it by the hand and he can greet the world with arms wide open." It shows truth in when parents have second thoughts about having children, "Well I don't know if I'm ready to be the man I have to be." It also speaks of the everlasting bond there is between parents and children. No matter what happens between you and your parents, they are always your parents.
