A detailed Summary of oedipus


Oedipus the king live a mixed and confused life. From the day he was born to the day he

went blind. Even though his tragic life was not caused by some thing he did but the fault of his

ancestor. The god of the ancient Greece did not for give his father or him and punish them in the

worse way possible, death to his father and marry his mother. Oedipus did not deserve the

terrible things that happened in his life because it was not his fault but his ancestor fault.

"Eternal powers control our lives, and we do not think you are their equal; yet we pray

to you, as your children believing that you, more than any man, may direct events and come, too

terms with the powers beyond us." This quote from the priest in the play points out that no
