I. A debate is going on in our country today that is more debatable than any other of which I know. It is the issue of abortion. There are many positions regarding this procedure, its morality, and the circumstances and way in which it should be performed. A. Some say that every woman has the right to terminate her pregnancy at any time for any reason because an unwanted pregnancy is an "invasion of the woman’s rights” 1. These people believe that this "useful" life must be distinguished from other forms of life, such as the unborn fetus. Some today may still hold to the clearly wrong position that a fetus cannot be considered living. This has been very proved to be false, for fetuses have been born very prematurely and still survived. 2. The only things necessary for a fetus to become an adult are the same things needed for a newborn baby to become an adult, things such as food, warmth, protection, and time. B. Then, there are those that are opposed to abortion. Even this position is split into different views. Some say that abortions can be performed in cases of rape, incest, or endangerment of the mother's life. Others say that abortions should not be performed unless the
