Anyone who was alive at the time when President John F. Kennedy was

assassinated remembers exactly what happened and where they were when they

heard the news that he died. That is why I interviewed my parents on where they

were and some other events that happened that only people who were alive would

know about. I interviewed them on December 5th at my house. I taped it and also

showed some clips that my mom taped on an anniversary of his death. A news

station had a special on John F. Kennedy and they showed the old footage of the

assassination events and the funeral ceremonies. Before I interviewed my parents I

showed when Walter Cronkite, a newscaster, first came on TV and said that

President Kennedy was shot and later died. I did that because I wanted everyone to

see the emotion and the sadness that he had. It showed history in the making. I

also showed a bit of the funeral procession. The coffin was pulled by 6 white horses,

3 of which were riderless in respect to the assassined President. One horse walked

behind the coffin and it was also riderless with inverted stirrups and Calvary boots

in them. The toes of the boots were facing the rear out of respect. Dignitaries and


difficult time for everyone, but I didn't know how intense it was. For example, I

thought it was kind of ironic that he went to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, the same

buried. Some of the dignitaries who showed up were Charles De Gaule, President of

his wife Jacqueline then arrived in Dallas and were in a motorcade along with the

o the funeral from all over the world except for Albania

made me realize how important he was to everyone and how popular he was. I also
