Does Las Vegas sound exciting? Have you ever longed to go there and try your hand at a

fortune. Almost everyone has a dream that they’ll win big, and this is why towns such as Las

Vegas have such a strong appeal to the public. The problem arises when people take this form of

entertainment to far. For some this can even turn into an addiction. This creates a rather big

controversy whether this form of entertainment should be allowed in the United States. People

who believe it should be outlawed argue that poverty levels around casinos is very high and that

gambling supports high risk gambling which is illegal everywhere in the United States. They also

say that ethnicity may play a role is how much money is being gambled. People that are for this

type of entertainment say that school and local funding is raised through gambling, and this money

is needed to keep towns and educational systems going.

The main argument that is brought by people apposing gambling is that it creates poverty

because of addiction. Some people wage too much and over time this can result in complete

poverty for some areas. This is shown in the increase money spent at casinos each year. In 1980
