The united states is composed of the gathering of many diverse and unique cultures. With each culture there is religion. With each religion there is a different way of life. Many of the culture share characteristics such as maintaining their way of life, therefor maintaining there religion. They also share the characteristic to thrive and endure through mans natural curiosity and manipulation of nature. Although no too cultures are identical, it is; although difficult to distinguish them from merely visualization. I think that it is in every culture to spring forth from the majority and develop a form that is unique to their lifestyle preferences. For example, Muslim people are primarily from a hot dry climate. With this being true, then why is it that as a culture they dress heavy in clothing with robing and things of the sort. I feel cultures do this in order to establish cultural identity.

Traditionally culture is looked at from a perspective of a whole. However i will attempt to bring you into my own personal culture. This is necessary because the united states is a culture composed of nearly all the cultures of the world. If there could be a child that would perfectly depict American culture it would speak al


l the languages with in our border, have tan skin, and would practice every prominent religion on earth. Since this is impossible, it further supports my need to limit the material to my personal culture. I am an year old black male. I choose the word Black over the popular term African American because what evidence have i been shown that i am from Africa. i might have been from anywhere that bears people of color so why should i bear a term decided for me by generalization. In the time and place that i live in education is a universal must for all people. However, more directly in my environment it is something that is wisperd amongst children as dreams. I must say dreams because many children who aspire to go to college and further education cannot due to home problems or personal problems etc etc. The average girl in my environment starts a family at the age of 19. how can one go to school if they have a mouth to feed, or an entire family to tend to. Babies cannot eat books, nor do books pay the light bill when needed. College presents people with the opportunity to invest in themselves, for every one is potentially successful. In my neighbor hood the belief is that every thing has a price and education has one that is too high to achieve and maintain a life when you are struggling with
