Fairies, Leprechauns, and God
What kind of world do we live in today where people are killed over what they believe? Why do people killed for what they believe? Why do people drench themselves in gasoline, then light themselves on fire for what they believe? Mass suicides, mass bombings, mass murder, and mass chaos, when will it all end? Will these things ever end until religion is no longer among us? Religion will always be among us so there will always be chaos. If there is a God that looks down upon us from the heavens do you think he would be proud of us? I mean if we're his creation wouldn't he be upset that we're killing in his name? Would he be a shamed of bloody wars that are fought because of religion? Did God mean to create turmoil and grief on earth? How far are you as a person sitting here today willing to prove there's an invisible man up there that has chosen your pathway through life? How far will you go to believe in a man that no one has ever seen face to face on earth? I see religion as a good idea, but only an idea. An idea that so many people have accepted with out asking many questions. I don't believe in God. Many assume from that one statement I'm a bad person or do bad things. That's fals
The Life Application Bible for Students declares, "To continue to rebel invites disaster. We should never trust our own leadership, resources, intelligence, or power more than God. If we do, we will suffer painful consequences" (pg. 720). Can you believe what you just read? This paragraph suggests that we shouldn't believe in ourselves. It suggests that God wants us to be mindless robots that walk the planet under his mystic thumb. If it weren't for rebellion I'd probably be playing a grand game of cricket tomorrow after tea. To rebel brings forth freedom, such as the United States. You should always believe in your leadership, resources, and intelligence. Otherwise you will then suffer painful consequences. During wars does the General rely on his leadership or God's leadership? If he relied on God's he wouldn't be fighting a war in the first place. Does God condemn a General for ordering an air strike that will kill hundreds or thousands of people? No, but in war it's either you or the enemy who will die first. If we were all mindless robots and puppets of Gods than the world would be a Utopia. e. A most recent example of good will is when I took part in was selling newspapers for Kids Day. The Fraternity I belong to sold more newspapers than any organization at Fresno State. Looking at me you would never know what I my beliefs are. By the way I act you wouldn't know I don't believe. I'm a normal person. I have a part time job, I'm going to school full time, and I'm very active in fraternal affairs. I'm currently the Sports Chair and Philanthropy Chair at Theta Chi fraternity. I personally know people who go to church every Sunday and they are worse people than I am. But yet, in comparison I'm still looked upon as the worse of the two in many people's eyes. People ask me "Don't you want to be saved by God?" Saved by what? What is there to be saved by? Are you supposed to be saved from your life that you live now? So you pray to God for him to forgive you and open up his arms up to you. That is the biggest bullshit I can think of. I love life, I love the people around me and if I didn't like what I was doing right now I would do something else. I like going to school, I like my job, and I like the person that I am. A recent example of religious hysteria is the beginning of the new millennium. Those of Christian following believe that Jesus will come down to earth and raise from the dead the chosen ones. Then he and his followers will rule for a thousand years. After the end of the thousand years everyone will be resurrected and live with Christ in a renewed heaven and earth. Obviously that hasn't happened. Why does everyone believe the year two thousand was the millennium year what about the year one thousand? It seems as though people are holding on to a fleeting dream that God or Jesus is coming to save them. Jesus or God has not returned in two thousand years why will he come in another two thousand? Then people say, well it says at the millennium Jesus will come back down to earth. It hasn't happened two previous times and it's not going to happen in the future. Why aren't there any burning bush sightings in the last thousand years? Why hasn't Jesus come back? I mean this would be a key time if any. Watching a Superman commercial and a commercial about Jesus contains the same lines. The birth, the death, and the resurrection. Many questions come to mind when you don't believe. Like if you don't believe do you have a soul? Am I soulless person? Am I to roam the planet accomplishing nothing through out life because in the eyes of God I don't exist? And when I die if I do have a soul where does it go? If there is a heaven do I go there? Probably not, because I didn't accept the Lord into my life when I was living. So do I go to hell for living a good life? For example, do I get assed out by some person that found God fifteen minutes before they were going to
