Through the Internet, investors can find out most things they want about companies and through e-commerce, investors can buy and sell shares through their lap top computers for as little as $19.95 per deal.
Most analysts recommend a balance investment portfolios, which includes shares in many sectors with an emphasis on 'blue chip' companies. Which these are traditional areas such as banks, mining companies and manufacturing, (the old economy) they are not as likely to suffer the sharp falls that recently occurred in the new economy stocks. An investment of 10,000 in some dot com stocks a few months ago might be worth not even half that today.
