1.1 This report is to provide Mr and Mrs. Investor a strategy to invest in the stock market. These investors have given no preferences and so this gives no imitations on a broad investment strategy.

There has been a substantial shift in the way business has been done over the last ten years particularly with the commencement of e-commerce. This has a major impact in the TTM sector

Historically, the TTM sector contained shared in the old economy style of business. These are such businesses as newspapers, magazines and television stations. The old economy included those companies that made money from producing goods or providing services. The shares in these companies performed well because there was increasing usage of television as more and more sets were sold.

The new economy is based almost on entirely in the TTM sector. The term new economy is used to describe the paradigm shift that the information structures and new business methodology of the web and of modern telecommunications has brought to the world. It is also a necessary buzzword to add hype to a bear/bull market at present. The leader of that sector in the USA is Bill Gates and his Micr


There has been a big change in the way shares are brought because of the new economy. Ten years ago, stockbrokers were the only ones who could buy and sell shares and they had most of the research information about companies. The Internet and e-commerce has changed all that. Through the Internet, investors can find out most things they want about companies and through e-commerce, investors can buy and sell shares through their lap top computers for as little as $19.95 per deal.

Most analysts recommend a balance investment portfolios, which includes shares in many sectors with an emphasis on 'blue chip' companies. Which these are traditional areas such as banks, mining companies and manufacturing, (the old economy) they are not as likely to suffer the sharp falls that recently occurred in the new economy stocks. An investment of 10,000 in some dot com stocks a few months ago might be worth not even half that today.

If you are investing your savings, you should look at having a balanced portfolio of shares and avoid " putting all your eggs in the one basket" The volatility of the new economy shares makes it difficult for investors to be happy about the val
