There are many famous people in Arizona's history. One of them is Sandra Day O'Connor. She started out on a ranch in Flagstaff. At the Age of 22 she became a jurist. Then she opened up a private law practice in Phoenix in 1959. From 1969 through 1975 she was the state senator. During her years as senator she became senate majority leader from 1973 through 1974. She had a seat on the Marcopia County's superior from 1975 to 1979. She then went to the court of appeals from 1979 to 1981. In 1981 she was accepted into the Supreme Court as an associate justice. I think she deserves to be on the famous people list because she was the first woman in the U.S. to have that position. This shows that brains really counts when you get older. There are three major religions in Arizona. They are the Roman Catholic, Mormon, and Southern Baptist Convention. Arizona is almost all-Roman Catholic accept for 2 other counties in the state. The Roman Catholic religion believes in Jesus the Son of God. They believe in only one powerful God. They believe that Mary was a virgin. They believe in everlasting life in heaven. Last they believe in the Ten Commandments and follow them. Next there is the Mormon religion. They believe in God the eternal father.
