This story led me to feel that in the 40's segregation was still very much in action and that the minorities were getting the short end of the stick. They were not only getting unequal education compared to the white school but they were not getting the same financial backing as well. Since the white school was getting all new equipment from all ranges of things to athletics to art. It seemed as if the children in the minority schools were fooled into thinking they were getting the same education and opportunity as the white kids. Really if they didn't have any athletic
