The CIA had vast experience in sabotage, propaganda, and assassination. There was evidence that JFK thought the CIA had too much power and that he intended to dismantle it after the 1964 election(Griffith,Internet). This was a very good reason for them to be involved in the assassination.

The Mafia most likely played a big role in the assassination. They spoke of JFK being killed days before the shooting. Jack Ruby, Mafia man, was seen in Hunt's office the day before the shooting. Also Robert Kennedy was raging a war on organized crime. This plan was mysteriously axed after Johnson took over as president(Griffith,Internet).
