I think 4th and 5th graders would be interested in the Harry Potter series because, although it has violence in it I think that age level should be able to handle it. If any kids younger than that have read it or want to read it, I would not recommended it because they just might think that the violence is real and that the wizardry is real.
Although I don't think it is a good book for younger children, I think that the media and newspaper writers are going just a little to far. I don't think it's really bad as they make it out to be. The writers and media make even older kids parents think twice about buying the book so there kid can read it.

I didn't really like liked Harry Potter because although it did keep my attention, I just think that the reading level was too young for my age. I like to read more non-fiction, action, and horror. I think the book is good for children at the age of nine
