Drama Critique - I K now What You Did Last Summer

On October 27th 1997, I attended the movie " I know What You Did Last Summer" at Sherway Cinemas. The movie was a suspenseful horror film. Four friends, Helen, Barrie, Julie and Ray are celebrating the fourth of July. They are all hyped up and when driving home they accidentally hit a man standing on the road. The man looks dead so they decide to cover their accident up and dump the body in the ocean. The four friends agree to take the secret to their graves.

A few weeks later a body is found in a fishing net. It is identified as David Eden. The papers say that David most likely committed suicide because the previous year he accidentally killed his girlfriend. The four assume it was the man they killed.

A year later Julie finds a note in her mailbox that says "I know what you did last summer." She gathers Helen, Barrie and Ray together to tell them of the note. They decide to ignore it. A few days later all of t

I found the play started with a fast pace. The viewer was given little introduction to the characters or their backgrounds. The climax of the film happened very early (when Julie found her first threat). The end of the film was repetitive and dragged a little. Although the movie was overdone it did not lack intensity or suspense and it did not fail to be a successful horror film.

hem are also starting to receive threats. Helen gets her hair cut off, Barry almost gets run over, Julie finds a body in her car and Ray gets a threatening note. Slowly one by one everyone close to the four are being killed brutally. Near the end of the film both Helen and Barrie are murdered. Julie runs for help to a stranger aboard a ship. Little does she know the stranger is the murderer. Ray jumps aboard the ship to rescue Julie. It turns out the murderer and the man they hit is David Eden's girlfriend's father, not David Eden. They thought the man they hit was dead but they were mistak
