Did the Holocaust really happen? A Holocaust is a disaster that results in the large-scale destruction of life (Resnick 9). The Holocaust was during World War II when the Germans killed millions of innocent Europeans. Adolf Hitler's life and ideas had an enormous impact on Jews, which lead their lives to revolve around the Holocaust.

The first incident that led to the Holocaust occurred in 1933 when Hitler created the Third Reich ( Rogasy 11). Hitler's goal was to create an empire that would last a thousand years, but it only lasted for twelve years. September 1, in 1939, German invaded Poland, which started World War II in Europe. Germany quickly joined forces with Japan and Italy, known as the Axis (Rogasky 9). Their enemy nations of World War II came to be known as the Allies. They were the United States, Great Britain, France, and Soviet Union. German government tried to rally the German people by creating a new German flag with a symbol of Nazism. They used an ancient symbol, dating back thousands of years, which often meant good luck. Turned slightly on its side and some other changes the swastika became the symbol of the flag. Palestine seemed like a natural place because Jews had historic ties to the land. The country Israel was now born.

These camps were part of Adolf Hitler's plan to murder by gassing all Jews of Europe; this goal was his final solution.
