The major drug epidemic that America is facing today is going to be no easy problem to fix, if it is even possible to fix it at all. The reason that the drug problem will more than likely never be stopped is because those who are in charge of the war on drugs are not only taking the wrong approaches to eliminating drug use, but their goal of total eradication has defeated them before they've begun. Our countries politicians and media have turned the usage of illegal drugs into a political platform and an attention grabber to help further their careers, and in the process have made the use of illegal substances, marijuana especially, seem to be more hazardous a problem than it really is.
