Carpe Diem

Life is short, If you turn around you might miss it." Carpe Diem and Momento Mori are one main part of people's everyday lives. A person can say or do something of the smallest nature and it can easily be called Carpe Diem or Momento Mori. "Seize the Day" otherwise known to people as Carpe Diem means live your life as fully as possible. Momento Mori on the other hand stands for "Remember you will die." People these days think they know what they want and have what they want. Most of them don't and find out to late that this is true. Only few people really know how and live by momento Mori and carpe diem daily. A Separate Piece by Jonathan Knowles, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, our summer reading novels, and the movies, Dead Poet's Society and Ferris Bueller's Day Off are some of the works this year in which we have studied that include momento Mori and carpe diem in them.

Carpe Diem is a very good way to live life. It helps people to break out of their paradigms and be themselves. We saw and example of this in the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Ferris would pretend to be sick and skip school so he as a kid could hang out with his best friend and girlfriend all the time. He broke out of his paradigm of being a kid wh

Momento Mori is good in the sense that it tells people to live for each day because they are going to die and it allows people to think about that and live life. She found that she enjoyed life more when she was walking through the woods or going to visit animals at the zoo. Tom in this play also did something similar. He would go out to the movies after work as a way to escape and get into his want to be world of action. It was his way of living his life because he too knew he was going to once die and he wanted to live and be happy. In the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Ferris skipped school and lied to his parents in order to have fun and live. Ferris' best friend went with Ferris although at first he was not to sure a!

Carpe Diem can also be bad. We saw examples of this also in the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off. While Ferris was running around town with his friends and thinking he was safe and had foo
