A detailed Summary of Censorship


In the article "Corporate Censors" the discussion is about businesses putting blocks on their employees Internet use. It is not just that companies are putting blocks on porn sites they are also concerned about employees using the Web to surf the net while they should be working.

I feel that companies have more than a right to put censors on their employee's computers. They are being paid money to do this job and they should be doing their job not wasting the company's time for their own enjoyment. I know that installing blocking systems or filtering programs is not going to stop people from surfing the net because sites are going up daily. If feel that this is the best way to prevent most workers from going into most sites that they are not supposed to be entering. I will now share a little bit of why I feel that censoring employee's computers is necessary. First, Organizations lose and estimated $50 billion a year in productivity due to employees surfing the web purely out of pers

In conclusion I feel that every company using computers to run their businesses more smoothly has more than a right to put a block on sites, which are inappropriate and may cause controversy in the work place. Companies should have each new employee go through a certain amount of training to familiarize them with the system and explain to them the rules and regulations that the company offers. I feel that this will help will alleviate workers and companies from further trouble.
